The Kingsville Navy League memorialized its annual scholarship by naming it after LTJG Michael Hahn, U.S. Navy.

LTJG Hahn grew up in Kingsville and sadly passed away in September of 1991 at a very young age. He graduated from H.M. King High School in Kingsville in 1984. He had a very successful college career and graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station in 1988 where he was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets. Upon graduation, Michael was commissioned an Ensign in the United States Navy. He earned his "Wings of Gold" in 1991 while stationed at NAS Meridian and was designated a Naval Aviator. Loving family and friends could not have been prouder of this young Kingsville man.

It is with great honor that the Kingsville Navy League is able to memorialize the life of LTJG Michael Hahn and the dedicated service he gave to our nation as he was only in the early stages of building on the legacy and traditions of Naval Aviation and fulfilling his dream as a young boy growing up in Kingsville, Texas, while watching the Navy jets fly overhead.

Application Information: The application for the Hahn Memorial Scholarship is available from November through March 1st to sea service members, their dependents, and Navy/Marine Corps Junior ROTC participants. Applicants must be seeking full-time enrollment at Texas A&M University-Kingville. Officials from the University have total oversight of the application process and the scholarship announcements through their autonomous https://www.tamuk.edu/enrollment-management/scholarships/index.html website. The members of the Kingsville Navy League have no input into the process.

The official full name of the scholarship is: The Navy League of the United States Kingsville Council / Hahn Memorial Scholarship.
